The small town rises at the crossroads of Marches, Umbria e and Tuscany, against the background of Monte Nerone (1526 mt, abt 4500 ft).
The area, rich in forests and meadows, small crystalline streams, sulphur and spa waters, enjoys a very healthy climate, cool in summer and dry in winter, and is a paradise for trekking and nature lovers. The territory offers here and there beautiful spots of ancient life, with abandoned farms, fortified boroughs, sighting towers, old watermills.
