History
According to the tradition in the early 11th century a condottiere named Malleano or Majano established here his castle, originally a walled citadel with 6 towers, of which only two extant. Another tradition explains the origin of the name as derived from the ancient Roman family called Manlii. Magliano was under the rule of Fermo until the annexation of Marches to the Italian Kingdom in 1860.
What to see
- The church of San Gregorio Magno, whose construction began on 4 July 1779; in an attached chapel is a painting of the Virgin with Saints Victoria and Lucy, probably a work of Vincenzo Pagani.
