Fontegreca, Province of Caserta, Campania
The center is located about 60 km from Caserta, in an interesting naturalistic area, with a natural cypress wood from above the center up to the valley of the Sava river.
The Cipresseta is a destination for botanical researchers due to the rarity of the cypress type (Cupressus sempervirens L.var. horizontalis,), unique in Europe and in the world, which is among the few resisting a disease, bark cancer, which is endangering the survival of cypress trees.

Originally called Fossaceca, after the unification of Italy in 1862 it changed its name to Fontegreca obtaining the first part of the new name, Fonte, from a source of fresh water and the second part, Greek, from ancient manuscripts that cited the Municipality with the name of Fossa Graeca. In 1927, suppressed the province of Caserta, Fontegreca passed to the province of Campobasso and in 1945 returned to the province of Caserta.
