San Nazzaro, Province of Benevento, Campania
The municipality is located in the basin of the Mele torrent about 10.5 kilometers southeast of Benevento along the border with the province of Avellino. Some local historians claim that it has been inhabited since the 2nd century BC by some groups of Cornelian Ligurians; the hamlet Montefalcone was already inhabited in Norman age, as it is mentioned in the Chronicle of historian Falco of Benevento.
