San Cetteo was bishop of Pescara between 568 and 597 AD, until June 13 when he was beheaded and thrown into the Aterno river. The bishop was a victim of the barbarian ferocity of Lombards that, being of Arian religion, were against all Catholics and their hierarchy. His body was found at the mouth of the river and since that day he become patron of Pescara.

The project to rediscover the figure of Saint Thomas, connecting to the town of Ortona that since 1258 preserves his bones, is now its final part with the coming trip to India that will trace the places where the Apostle went to convert the pagans.

The municipality has reconstructed in chronological order the historical archive of the town. The works began a year ago under the direction of Prof. Roberto Montanaro, were able to recover 400 folders of historic documents, from 1809 until 1963.

Nicola Di Sario, a farmer from Canosa Sannita, will celebrate his 100th birthday today. He was in the war in Albania, then was an emigrant in Argentina where he worked as horseshoer, but he come back after few years because his wife could not move to South America.
