An italian mason that worked building the skyscrapers of Providence is basketball star in the Stadio del Mare Playground. In the 1950's Sam Suffoletta left his town, Pettorano Sul Gizio, looking for luck in the States. With a spectacular descent from the castle of San Panfilo d'Ocre on Monte Circolo, a 1000 feet high rock wall, the Roman «Niphargus» Speleological group were able to enter the of Beato Placido Cave.
