Finally a book on Santa Maria in Piano by don Elio Marighetto. the church hosts the largest fresco in Abruzzo, the Universal judgement by Alberico from Settefrati, a 12th century monk; 11 meters in height and 6 in width, it was painted with a technique called "encausto", with colors in wax, heated during pinting. This Vision of the Judgement is one of the three most beautiful in the world, ranking beside Michel Angelo's and Signorelli's.
