Francavilla - A square for the victims / Una piazza per i nove francavillesi
On 16 december 1916 nine youths died in the explosion of a fireworks laboratory turned into an ammunition factory. Yesterday the square behind the 16th century Spanisgh tower was given the name of Largo Martiri del Lavoro. The youngest victim, Rocco Caratella, was 12 year old.
