Lanciano - Feast begins at dawn / E all'alba le Feste entreranno nel vivo - by Mario Giancristofaro
Since time immemorial the night between 13 and 14 September is the longest night for Lanciano. Fireworks at 4 am, concert of "Città di Lanciano" band, then to the market. The origins are found by some in pagan festival of Abundance, or in the finding in the 11th century of a statue of the Virgin Mary under the Ponte Diocleziano.

L'Aquila - Exhibition of Documents on the Gran Sasso / Mostra di documenti sul Gran Sasso, by Michela Corridore
At the Archive in L'Aquila stones, tools, fossils, cards, manuscripts, maps from prehistory to the imprisonment of Mussolini for the exhibition "Il Gran Sasso e gli uomini". One of the most ancient a pergamon of 1192 written by Celestino III, among the most interesting the "Libro della vetta", a guestbook kept at the top of the mountain inside an iron box for the visitors to sign. Exhibition open until 8 October.
