Chieti - Carabinieri in Abruzzo since 1860 / Un legame iniziato nel 1860, by Mario D'Alessandro
On 15 october 1860 the carabinieri escorting Vittorio Emanuele II entered Chieti in triumph and stayed in the city. In 1861 the 8th legion was established in Chieti under colonel Enrico
Favier, consisting of 23 officers and 1214 carabinieri. The corps was of paramount importance in the defeat of bandits and brigands, with its greatest representative, Chiaffredo Bergia "the hero of Abruzzi", In 1919 the Legione Carabinieri of Abruzzo and Molise.

Gessopalena - Fund raising for the Jubilee monument / Monumento per ricordare il Giubileo 2000
The Pro Loco of Gessopalena, directed by Luca Melchiorreinspired by professor Carmine Mattoscio's sentence "Living in the memory of those who remain means you'll never die" started a fund raising to make a monument (a stome Pità realized by sculptors Umberto and Lucio Innaurato) to be placed in the cemetery square with the names of contributing families in the basement.
