Giulianova - Antonio Sardella is appointed "maestro di cucina" / Prestigioso riconoscimento ad Antonio Sardella
The Federazione italiana cuochi appointed 36-year-old Antonio Sardella, born in Teramo and living in Giulianova. The prestigious title was given in the years to only 101 Italians, two of them Abruzzese. The new maestro is presently working with tourist centre Holiday & Baviera, in Giulianova.

Nonna Ardita, born 18 may 1920, shares her birthday with the Pope. Ardita Petaccia, now living in via Colle di Mezzo, Pescara, with husband Venanzio Sablone, was born in Tocco da Casauria, fifth of 5 children, and at 12 started to work in a cement factory in Pescara then moved to a tobacco factory and during the war to bomb factory Camplone, along with other 900 workers, mostly women. On 14 september 1943 Pescara was heavily bombed and she took refuge in a sewer. Her mother also survived escaping into the countryside. Nonna Ardita spends her day preparing tasty dishes, praying Padre Pio, gardening her roses, and playing cards.

Tocco da Casauria - A catalogue for wood artist Di Giulio / Un catalogo per Di Giulio
The Province of Pescara will prepare a catalogue with the works made by 72-year-old Eolo Di Giulio, mostly kept in his home. The artist's works are panels in carved wood made with a tri-dimensional technique that he learnt through the years, starting at 12 years old as apprentice with his father.
