Everything ready for Sant'Antonio in Trasacco, Collelongo and Villavallelonga / Tre paesi per Sant'Antonio, by Loreto Taricone
Three marsican villages are getting ready for one of the most poignant appointments in the calendar of folk traditions: Sant'Antonio Abate, next 16 january. In Villavallelonga there is the "panarda", a rich banquet going up to the morning for friends and relatives. In Collelongo, le "cottore", big copper pots where corn, called "cicirocchi", is boiled, then offered to everybody, spending the night drinking wine. In Trasacco the "mascaritte", a group of men and women walking through the alleys and singing ancient popular and religious songs, stopping to eat the cicirocchi and the holy "panetta" (white bread loaves), and performing scenes of the saint's victory on the temptations, with actors masked as Sant'Antonio, the Devil and Archangel Gabriel.

Finally restored the tower in Roccamorice and Santa Maria della Croce in Pietranico - Restaurate la torre di Roccamorice e la chiesa di Santa Maria della Croce a Pietranico
The medieval tower in Roccamorice, a defensive military structure, was brought back to the ancient splendor with a restoration of the large stones, a new chestnut roof and an inner steel staircase, and demolishing an ugly building just beside it. A highly technological approach was used instead to remove the excessive humidity in the walls of the Oratorio in Pietranico, and the restoration also brought to light an ancient inscription which nobody remembered, where the origin of the church itself is explained. A very cumbersome, and highly successful job made by architect Bruno Buccella from Alanno.
