Good cuisine is expensive, mushrooms, fillet and zampone (pork leg) / Mangiar bene costa sempre più caro - Nel menu funghi, filetto e zampone
The cost of a "cenone" has increased 30% since last year: 120,000 lire just for the cenone, 180,000 if you also want to dance. The typical Abruzzese menu in restaurants will be a first course with a mushroom or truffle sauce, fillet, lamb or fish for a secod course, and, a must, a zampone with abundant lentils (symbolizing financial luck), cakes and dried fruit. And of course champagne, with judgement.

Pescara - Tramps, stories from a forgotten city / Barboni, racconti della città dimenticata - Una giornata con i senzatetto - by Cindy Virgili
Stories of lives spent waiting for a future that does not exist. Marco, 39, from Torrevecchia Teatina, left his family when his mother died, had some temporary jobs, and would like to become an actor in the theatre, but in the night hopes death will come and take him away; during the day he asks money to buy cigarettes and draws landscapes. Simona, 18, spends her time at the station, would like to become someone, but does not know where to start. Antonio, 54, left a family and 3 children 12 years ago, washes and shaves every morning in the stations' lavatories, cuts his hair every month, does not drink or smoke, waits for a hospice to take him, so he won't have to sleep outdoors, since he does not like to be a tramp.
