Six years' time for the economy until in 2006 EU funds will all go to Eastern European countries. President Falconio is optimistic: at the Berlin summit the Abruzzo development model was greatly appreciated. Also the Italian governemment considers Abruzzo a top priority. But a lot of work must be done: increase strength and reform the administration, find markets for Abruzzese products, give our youths a future through computer and network training. A great asset in this development model are the Abruzzese communities abroad.

The tenth Edition of the celegrated enological - artistic event is dedicated to Andrea Pazienza, a comic strip designer who died in 1988, whose drawings appeared on many national journeys and also supplied labels to wines, as in the Zaccagnini winery where many great contemporary artists left their signatures.

Rabbits, turkeys, ducks and beehives carried away by Ms Bubu, a brown bear living in the Parco Nazionale d'Abruzzowho had been recently moved farther away. She started her visits from the wood in October, then she was put to sleep and carried in the Northernmost part, but she has clearly found her way back home

Ada De Stefanis, coordinator of the course and mayor of Torre, says the course in Maintenance of Cultural and Artistic resources was really attractive both for the subject and the job outlets. Two specializations available this year: artistic, connected to the Casa di Dante in Abruzzo, and archaeological in cooperation with the museum in Celano. In the program also a musicology meeting with American students. The first graduates are expected in May 2000.
