CELANO - An archaeology meeting on ancient Fucino / Convegno sull'archeologia - L'antico Fucino richiama gli esperti da tutta l'Italia - by Giovanna Palmieri
Next weekend at the Museo della preistoria d'Abruzzo, Celano, a congress on "Il Fucino e le aree limitrofe nell'antichità", with experts from all over Italy. On Friday 26 an exhibition under the title of "Amore e morte nell'Abruzzo antico", then on Saturday 27 the Fucino in protohistoric and Roman times, finally on Sunday the Middle Ages. Recently evidence of a village on palafitte was found near Celano.

Two weeks ago the Sulmonese girl won the gold medal at Seul. A great satisfaction after sacrificing so much. All the sports associacions in Sulmona will attend the party, as well as the mayor of the town, to present her a special honor plaque.

TIONE - Water and light in the "pagliare" / Luce e acqua nelle tipiche pagliare
The municipality of Tione degli Abruzzi wants to take electricity and water to the typical pagliare, without endangering the historical and cultural value of the ancient constructions, using a photovoltaic diesel plant. But the B.A.A.A.S. for Abruzzo oppose the project, though the mayor believes the 300 watts supplied by the project to each construction will be perfect for eco-tourism in the area.
