PENNE - An ancient Decameron found in the friars' library in Penne / Un antico - Decamerone nella biblioteca dei frati di Penne - by Sergio Cinquino
A dozen young volunteers were helping fra' Bernardino reordering the 16,000 volumes in the historical monastery at Colle Romano, Penne, when a manuscript of Boccaccio's Decameron - a very unusual reading for monks - was found. Fra' Bernardino says that there are more ancient and precious volumes however, which scholars come from all over Europe to see. The wonderful library was inaugurated in the 16th century, and comprises works dating back to the 14th.

Paganica and Chieti, the same San Giustino - Author Giovanni Fiordigigli wants to show they are the same person / Paganica e Chieti, lo stesso S. Giustino - La disputa sul protettore delle due città in un libro di Giovanni Fiordigigli
Bishop San Giustino, worshipped in Chieti, and San Giustino the patrono of Paganica were the same person according to Paganichese historian Giovanni Fiordigigli. In the book it is described how Giustino came from ancient Siponto, present-day Manfredonia, with his brothers Fiorenzo and Felice, niece Giusta and her milk-sister Umbrasia; all the family was killed in the persecutions against the Christian, with the exception of Giustino who moved to Chieti and was made a bishop there.
