St Martin's feast with wine and chestnuts / Festa di San Martino oggi tra vino e castagne
All over the Teramo province St. Martin is celebrated. The festivity derives from the pagan Bacchanali, whose protagonists wore satyre costumes with horns (whence the traditional "festa dei cornuti - Feast of the horned"). St Martin is the patron of travellers and pub-keepers.

Olive trees in the Vasto region offer exceptional harvest this year: full of rich, pulpy olives. The climate favoured this year the Abruzzese olive producers with the right amount of sun, heat and rain.

SAN VALENTINO - Great feast yesterday with a phallic trophy as prize to married couples / Ieri la manifestazione, trofeo fallico per gli sposi - La Festa dei cornuti - risate contro l'infedeltà
The trophy awarded to the last-wed couple in the year, to remind them that adultery is always waiting and that marriage is the right place for horns. Yesterday the «Festa dei cornuti» took place through the streets of the village. Some people say the tradition is vulgar and must be abolished, but the residents find it very funny. After a parade, the shooting of the "Pupazza", the giant phallic award and a dinner with the «spezzatino del cornuto», a dish of meat and potatoes with lots of red pepper.
