Farewell to Marcellino, the Pescarese baker who lost his life's companion a week ago / Addio Marcellino, fornaio dei pescaresi - Una settimana fa aveva perso la moglie - by Sergio Cinquino
Ezio Di Leonardo, whom everybody called Marcellino, 97 years old, was the most famous baker in Pescara, where he moved in 1832 from Teramo to establish his bakery in via Firenze. His great passion: Claudio Villa. His wife Angela Costantini, a bread artist, during the war gave out loaves of bread free to group of gipsies: she passed away suddenly last week, followed a few days later by her husband, leaving five children and six grandchildren.

VASTO - Trip to Australia to meet the emigrants / Trasferta in Australia per salutare gli emigrati
A Vastese delegation led by the mayor Giuseppe Tagliente and Silvio Petroro, leader of the Association of Vastese emigrants will set out for Perth (Western Australia) on 19 November to celbrate the tenth adniversary of the twinship. In Perth there are 7,000 Vastese. The mayor will donate a wrough-iron composition by maestro Raffaele Di Prinzio from Guardiagrele, the standard of San Michael the Archangel, Vasto's patron saint, and a miniature reproduction of the bronze portal of Santa Maria Maggiore.
