San Giustino, the same saint for Chieti and Paganica? Books - Revolutionary thesis by author Fiordigigli / unico santo per Chieti e Paganica? - EDITORIA Tesi rivoluzionaria di Fiordigigli
Bishop San Giustino, patron saint of Chieti, and San Giustino the Confessor, patron of Paganica might be the same person, says Giovanni Fiordigigli, a historian from Paganica, in his recent book with an introduction by Archbishop Giuseppe Molinari. Fiordigigli says there is no proof that San Giustino was ever bishop of Chieti. San Giustino came to Paganica in the 3rd century A.D. from Siponto with brothers Fiorenzo and Felice and nephew and, says Fiordigigli, they stopped in Chieti first. A proof is that Santa Giusta is venerated in Tufillo too.
