Interview/ In Pescasseroli, at Ms Maraini's. The writer speaks of her ten years spent in contact with the Parco Nazionale d'Abruzzo - Dacia, the Park's lover «It is one of the few uncontaminated places in Italy, inhabited by cultured, thoughtful people» / L'intervista/A Pescasseroli, nella casa della Maraini.
PESCASSEROLI — There are forests everywhere in literature. And Dacia Maraini has chosen a wood in the heart of the largest Abruzzese park to write her latest works. A place of solitude, inhabited by invisible bears. Her cat Carbone is waiting to be caressed while she says these woods must be protected, they'll block the desert. The inhabitants here are educated environmentalists. The writer is the president of association "Amici di Pescasseroli", which organizes exhibitions, prizes, a free medical service for tourists etc «I want to give something to these people. They have defects: an introvert character, lacking self-confidence, afraid of novelties. But they were able to preserve their territory, they have a cultural pride, they realized tourism can flourish without destroying». She does not care about the tourists, who are lazy and keep to the classical paths. A few steps into the wood and you won't meet anybody for hours. Her long, difficult excursions are well-known; her father Fosco climbed K2, she recently visited Australia and Vermont.

The friars of the Cerreto Comunità, in Santo Spirito a Maiella for three years, are leaving. There was a meeting in Roccamorice open to all citizens with vice-mayor Giuseppe Di Matteo, Donato Di Matteo, the president of the Comunità Montana, Padre Cesare, founder of the Community, Don Donato, parish priest of Roccamorice. Since the beginning they were opposed by Bishop Menichelli in Chieti, who finally sent them a letter imposing rules "that do not agree with our line" says Padre Cesare: not to celebrate Mass in the presence of the faithful, and to limitate themselves to prayer without involving in education. Their own archbishop from Isernia has called them back. These troubles were accompanied by financial problems: offers are so low that the friar had to go to the States, where his mother lives, to collect some money
