THE WERE MARRIED IN 1892. WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM CONICELLA'S OR MASCIARELLI'S OR LAUDIDIO'S OR PESHIO'S LIVING LAMA DI PELIGNI TODAY.

My father's parents were both born in Castel di Sangro, L'Aquila. My grandfather, Antonio DiCarlo emigrated in 1910 to Pennsylvania as did my grandmother, Maria LaGone. The lived all of their married life in Chicago Heights, Illinois. I still have family in Castel. My wife and I visited Castel in the summer of 1995 (the summer of the "..squado ciracola"...) and met my father's first cousin, Terzio DiCarlo is the director of the Biblioteca and my grandmother's first cousin, Emma Santostefano (ne: Gasbarro) who owns a small retail shop in Castel. We are planning a second trip in the late summer of 2000.

Wow! I am looking for info on Loreto APrutino because I want to learn more about my maternal grandfather, Zopito Nobilio. He was born in Loreto Aprutino in 1899 and came to Boston about 19 years after that. I am planning on going to Rome mid October and wanted to know how to contact, in advance, the town hall in that town to find out about records. Any suggestions. Thanks!!!!

My grandfather Vincent DiZio came to the USA in 1921 from Loreto Aprutino. It is great to visit his birthplace via the internet. I hope to visit in person in the near future. First, I must learn to understand and speak Italian. Thanks for a great website!
