I am the grandaughter of BRIGIDA and PASQUALE GIAMPAOLO of Pittsburgh PA. I will be traveling to Gamberale/Sulmona in October 2007 to see some remaining relatives (Scuilli, Bucci, Ciccarelli). I would like more information on Giampaolo side to trace my grandfather's heritage. Please email me if you know anyone related to Pasquale Giampaolo or his sister, Sabia. Their father's name was Antonio.

I am searching for any of my father's relatives. The last name would be MINOSSE.
Please contact me if you have any information. My father's father's name was Luigi Minosse. He left his oldest son in Italy when he came to the US late 1800s or early 1900s.
Thank you!

I am trying to learn more about my family history. My Grandmother and Grandfather were both born in Castel di Sangro, Italy, and they came to the United States at a young age and married here. My Grandmother's name was Philomena Sansonetti. She had a brother named Charles Sansonetti.. I believe her birthdate was September 19, 18__ (not sure of the year). My grandfather's name was George DeOre. He had a brother who also came to the US. I believe my Grandfather's name was changed at Ellis Island when he arrived in the United States. I believe the correct spelling of his name was DiOrio or D'Orio. Any information that you can provide would be so helpful. I found photographs of the town Castel di Sangro in my Mother's belongings. It is a very old picture. I want to travel to Italy and visit my Grandmother's and Grandfather's birthplaces. I noticed that there are Sansonetti and DiOrio families still in Castel di Sangro, so I am hoping that someone remembers or has a family history. Thanks so much!

I was so pleased to come accross this site. My grandfather Calgidonio Gambacurta and father Sam were born in the village of Filetto. Iwanted to find out more information about the town. I was there years ago for a brief time and I wish I had found out more information about Filetto and my family tree. Is Filetto in the province of L'Aquila or Chieti? Thanks for such a wonderful site!!

Hi Pat: I was amazed to see that you have a web site about your Dad's family. I sent you an email to your business address, but not sure if it went through so I'm sending this again.
I've always been interested in doing a family history and have some information written down that I would love to pass along to you.
The last time I spoke with you was about four years ago and your Mom had just passed. Time passes quickly and I can't believe it has gone by so fast. I'm 60 years old now and I have three grown children and one grandchild who lives in North Carolina. One of my daughters lives in Braintree, MA and the other lives in Connecticut. (Yes, her boyfriend is a Yankee's fan!!) I always have fond memories of visiting your family when you guys were living in Elizabeth, NJ - I can't believe that the high school has been built over your old house and I still tell the story to a lot of people how Uncle Angelo used to buy his fig tree in the ground. Of course, we didn't do that in Abruzzi as the climate was a little milder, but my brother-in-law, Tony's next door neighbor still buries his fig tree just like your Dad used to and of course, it reminds me of the family in NJ.
My love to Liz - say hi to Angie and Tony - oh, are they still in Las Vegas?
Write back and tell me all about your family please.

Miei Cari Amici.

my mother nunziata maria del grande was born in pratola peligna in 06/22/1908.
my grandfather was: pasquale del grande. my grand mother was: giocondina presutti. My uncle nicholas persutti visited me in the u.s. in the 1950's and spoke of his house in the cemetary where his decease4d wife was waiting for him. grandmother told me how the wolves howled outside the village walls during long and cold winter nights. My mother and father visited the village during the 1960's and spoke kindly of the relatives that she met. She was about three years old when she and her mother left to rejoin the men of the family - who had preceeded them to america during the previous year. my mother had 2 older brothers, swimmon and albert. she also had a sister, anna, who died around age 10 (?) I would be interested in hearing from anyone who knows about these people or their relatives.
