My Grandfather Domenici DiDomenico came to the US around the turn of the last century. He fathered a large family but unfortunately died at a young age (44). All I know about his family is they were from Chieti in Abruzzi. His wife, my Grandmother's maiden name was Annunziata Conte. I wish to travel to Abruzzi soon to find more information about my family. I would be very grateful for your help.

Hello, my name is Mariano, I am Argentinian and 27 years old. My grandfather Nicola (Nicolino) D'Uva was born on November 15, 1923 in Casale, Catelpetroso (Isernia). In April 1933, he travelled to Argentina where he remained the rest of his life until he died on December 23, 1997. He travelled accompanied by his mother María Cifelli (born on May 25, 1902 in Castelpetroso, daughter of Filomeno Cifelli and Palma Giancola) and his small sister Dina. In Argentina they were waited for by his father, Giovanni D'Uva (born September 21, 1901 in Castelpetroso, son of Angel Antonio D'Uva and of Florinda D'Uva), who was living in Argentina from 1926.

My husband's family came from Lettopalena. Although Martinelli is usually considered a Tuscan name the family came from Abruzzo. His mother's family was Rosetti. It is a small town and we're hoping to visit. The family first migrated to Pennsylvania to work in the coal mines. This was hard work and didn't pay well. Eventually they moved to California where the family still lives.

My name is Carmen Capato. My father Carmen Capato and my mother Almerinda Massucci were born in Forli Del Sannio. They are now both passed away.
I have visited Forli 10 times in the past 30 years. I am planning a trip there in the month of August of this year (2007). I always visit in the month of August because I like to be there during the feast of Maria Assunta. My uncle Armond Capato was very much involved in the feast when he was alive.
When I am in Forli I stay at the house my grandfather and father built many years ago. The house even has a name "La Fonda Balla" (The fountain at the bottom) The house address is #4 Via Sannio. Living there now is my cousin Letizia Capato, her husband Joe Callabrese, her daughter Donatella, her husband Pepe Zangaro and their son Tonnio. They have made many changes to the house.
Also my cousin John Capato, his wife Mina, their daughter Linetta, her husband Donato Massucci and their daughter Maria Franchesca live in Forli.
Visiting Forli to me is like going home. I have met many people in Forli and they all make me feel welcome when I am there. I usually stay in Forli for about 3 to 4 weeks when I am there. Forli to me is a page from my parents past and I feel so fortunate that I have had the oppotunity to share Forli with them.

Your site for Fornelli is very interesting. Very happy to have found it since my mother spend a very difficult part of her life there during the 2nd WW. Your date for the tragedy that befell Fornelli and its town council is incorrect. It should read October 4th 1943. Not 1942. This is a place of great interest to me. I am interested in hearing from anyone who might have more information on this event in the history of Fornelli.

Grazie

I am asking for help. I am researching my grandparents and all my ancestry. My wonderful Italian side is D'Earmo from Coste Sante,Del Chieti,Lama,Del Peligni,Italy. Family members came to America in around 1884, but returned many times to Coste Santa untill the 1920's. My grandmother family's name is Cocco. In my research in America I have found many spellings of D'Earmo. Deramo, Deremo, De'Armo. I do not know if these places is in your region, but it would assist me alot to know where to go from here. I have diaries of train rides to Naples (135 Miles) from Stazione, Di Palena, which was 12 miles from Lama, Italy and Lama was 2 miles form Coste Santa. I d not know if any one exists from my family over there but would love to find out. Thank you to anyone that can assist. I had wrote this before I found the area with my family names. Any connections feel feel to contact me. Jovanina (Jennie) D'Eramo was my father's mother. She passed away in Feb, 1978 in Tulsa, Okalahoma USA. She had 5 sons and now they have all passed. My own father in 1982. My sister and I will be carrying on the family line as far as we can go back. I have the picture of one of the boats that they traveled on in 1904 at our site at Ancestry.com. I have diaries from Joseph and letters. Franciscio I found the ship manifest where he arrived. Also have the ship manifest for a few others.
