For those looking for ancestors, I say keep trying. I found my ancestors from Goriano Valli from an old address book among my parents' possessions. This led to a visit there and then to my living there for a few months and then to my writing a book "Atavismo!" Atavismo means "recurrence in an organism or in any of its parts of a form typical of ancestors more remote than the parents usually due to genetic recombination." I discovered so many interests and traits in common with ancestors I had never known. I visited many small towns including San Demetrio, Castelvecchio, Raiano, Sulmona, Pescara, Tortoreto, Rocca Di Mezzo, Fontecchio, Tione, Modena (we attended a food festival there!), Molfetta, Scanno, Anversa d'Abruzzo, San Stefano de Sessanio, Calascio, Castel del Monte, Goriano Sicoli. A description of my book will be available on my website Atavismo.com probably by the end of June.

I am planning a trip to Abruzzi in the spring around Easter. My father, Silvio Andolfi, was born in Vasto on January 8, 1911, the son of Maria (nee Durante) and Nicola Andolfi. He was a member of the Filippo Palizzi Society in Philadelphia. It was comprised of all Vastese men. I don't believe there are any relatives remaining in the area. The children of his sister settled in Tivoli and Villa Adriana. I have been fortunate to meet them. If anyone has any information as to where my father's family lived in Vasto or even a specific address, it would give me great joy to be able to visit the home when I go. If anyone could furnish any info about Silvio's past surroundings, it would be greatly appreciated. We are fortunate to be able to share our thoughts.
