i have written a book:
arthur and rose - the caponi/mosca union - october 21,1915
in search of my italian roots
ernest s. caponi,p.e.
ninth child fifth son
the book is currently being published with an expected completion date of october 2006. the book takes readers on a nine year journey thru massachusetts as well as the abruzzo and le marche regions of italy in search of documents of birth, marriage and death which tell about them and their ancestors.
the theme of the book is a "how i did it " approach to genealogy research for anyone with an interest in italian americans.
i do have one interesting mystery which is begging to be solved:
my mother rose b. mosca is the daughter of concetta sulprizio who was born in popoli pescara abruzzo in 1865. i know her paternal ancestry going back to 1766. Blessed nunzio sulprizio was born in 1817. I know his ancestry back to 1760. I am looking for the name of nunzio's great grandfather (bisnonno) in order to try to find a connection to my grandmother.
I would be extremely pleased if anyone interested in my search could be of help to me in solving this mystery. i do have family trees for nunzio and my grandmother in support of my known facts to date.
Is there anyone who could help me????????

To John Wargo: your email address turned out as bad destination, so the posting here: the locality might be Tre Ciminiere, in the comune of Atri, which is very near Silvi. The only Tre Camini that can be found in Italy is a frazione of Campofilone, a commune of Ascoli Piceno (over the Abruzzo border north of Teramo). Can the original spelling be
Martelli or Martella? The surname Martello is not presently recorded in
the white pages of Teramo, while Martelli and Martella appear. More
likely, it was Martella. There are two Domenico Martella recorded on
Ellis island, one is from Atri and the other from Silvi - both come in
1913, one is 12 and the other 16. The 16-yo is from Silvi, and his
parents' names are Giovanni and Anna. The 12-yo from Atri, travels
with his mother Rosa Violetti and with other brothers and sisters
(Rocco, Candeloro etc) - From what you say the 16-yo should be your
ancestor .. the surname Martella appears in Silvi with 13 families. After you have read this message, please send an email to contact@abruzzo2000.com for this info to be deleted.
