my book "arthur and rose, the caponi/mosca union, october 21,1915,in search of my italian roots, ernest s. caponi,p.e.,ninth child fifth son" has been submitted to a publisher.
it is expected to take about six months or so before it will be available. the book affers a "how i did it approach"
to do genealogy research for anyone interested in search of italians who emigrated to the united states from italy.
my search began in 1997.it includes two trips to italy as well as many letters written in both italian and english which were sent to italy requesting copies of birth, marriage and death records. the results (both successes and failures) have been included in the book.
writing this book has been perhaps the most rewarding experience of my 73 years on earth.
i would be delighted to share some of my experiences with any interested person.
in addition to my e-mail i am at:

I am in the beginning stages of developing a family tree and am looking for information about my grandfather and grandmother on my father's side. There were from Pescara, Italy and immigrated to the USA sometime around 1920. They lived in Boston's Italian North End before moving to Medford, Massachusetts where they both lived until they died. My grandmother's maiden name was Palumbo.
I will appreciate any information that is offered. Thank you

Through this Guest Book, I finally, with the help of Remo Faieta, was able to go to Collecorvino and found a relative of mine. Since then, Anna Marie Faieta, no relation yet, who lives in Collecorvina, knew another relative of mine , and we started to e-mail each other. As a result, Concetta Chiola and her husband Marco Stella visited with our family in September 2005 and now I know many more "cugino's" from my maternal side of the Fiucci family. My mother was Anna Domenica Fiucci. I want to thank the "Abruzzo2000" people that put this site on the internet. I am still looking for my fathers side of my family. His name was Giuseppe Di Panfilo and his father was Donatangelo. His mother was Carollina Pacitti.

Hello... Anyone that can help... I'm trying to trace any living relatives (or info about dead ones) from my grandfather's side of the family. Originating in Frosinone, Settefrati and Caserta. My family names are Fanoni (Guiseppe/Matteo), Venturini (Maria Rosa), DeVechis, and Bartolomucci (Amalia). My grandfather's family moves to the North East of England before he was born, and I know little to nothing about any existing relative that may have remained in Italy. I realise I haven't much info to begin a search with, but perhaps anyone with the same name/s from the above areas might like to get in contact?

Hi...I'm trying to track down info regarding my great-grandfather. His name is Luigi DiMedio ( DIMEDIO )and he emigrated to Camden, New Jersey near Philadelphia around 1910. His 2 sons, Beniamino and Guissepe, now account for around 150 DiMedios near Philadelphia. Luigi was an only child. He lived from 1862 until 1918 and is buried in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. I believe he was a blacksmith, toolmaker or postman in or around Apignano or Castiglione Raymond near Teramo during the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Specifically, I am trying to find out who Luigi's father was. There are many DiMedios also in Delaware, Western Pennsylvania and even Australia. We are probably all related and as Luigi was an only child, then his father may be the key. The DiMedios in Australia are from the same part of Italy. Anyone interested in the DiMedio name is welcome to email me. Thanks, Ken.

My mother's maiden name is Giannitti, she was was born in 1944 and raised in Bugnara, Abbuzzi. She has contact with the mayor of the town. We still have some family there. Her mothers last name was Salomone. My Grandmother had brothers that immigrated to the States. Language was a factor in losing contact. I'm looking for family members (Salomone) in the States that might have descended from those brothers.

We are searching for information on the Colavecchio family from Campobasso and towns in that region. My husband's grandfather was Francisco Colavecchio and he married Elizabetta Clemente who was born in Carpinone in 1871. They went to Argentina for a few years and returned to the Gildone area after the turn of the century. Francisco died sometime thereafter and Elisabetta (widowed) came to the US in 1911 with her children. They settled in Albany, N.Y. We believe that Leonardo and Rosa Clemente were Elisabetta's parents. We would appreciate any help at all! Joan C.
