I'm trying to trace the family of Carmine DiLoreto who immigrated to the U.S.A. in the early 1900's from Chieti,Lanciano or Castel Frentano. He married Philomena Scocchera. He had a brother Rocco, Steve, & a sister. They lived in Pittsburgh for awhile then moved to Windber,PA. His wife's Mother was Marie Antonelli. Would appreciate any information you can give.

My Father wrote the following in this guestbbok and has since passed away. I would Like to take over his quest for information and have included my email. Here is what my father wrote:
"My Father Carmen Guerino Ciammaichella (John) was from Forli Del Sannio, Italy. His father, my grandfather was Guiseppe Ciammaichella, he was born in 1884 and died in 1934. He was a National Police officer in Italy and was awarded the 2nd highest national military metal for bravery. My Grandmother's maiden name was Angelina Iacovetta, she was born in 1886 and died in 1944. I remember my father talking about the Old Country a lot and I know that he has relatives in Forly Del Sannio and Chieti. I would very much like to get in touch with any of my Cousins, Uncles and Aunts that may be in Italy. My son's and Grandson's and our families may come to that region in Italy in 2006 and we would be very grateful to meet any of our relatives over there. Thanks very much. Please contact me if possible.

I would like any information on John and Maria Giorgio of Brescia. They immigrated to the US around 1905. They had three sons: Frank, Anthony, and John and three daughters: Inez, Elizabeth (my grandmother), and the third I only know the name she took as a nun: Sr. Nazzerain.
Anthony returned to Brescia around 1906-07. During WW2 Anthony was an officer in the Italian army signal corps I believe. He survived the war passing on in the early 70's I believe but can't be sure. Anthony had one daughter: Giorgina Giorgio, my 2nd cousin.
If you have any information on this part of my family could you please pass it on to me. I have little or no information and I have just begun to trace my Italian roots.
thank you

I am trying to find people who might be related to Angelo D'Orazio or Rose Urbano. My Great Grandfather was from Chieti, the city or town of Civitella Messer Raimondo, Italy. I know that they owned a hotel, and returned to Italy periodically. I am looking for relatives or people who could help me piece together information about my family.

To Patrick Pizzoferrato: the larger group of Pizzoferrato families in Abruzzo lives in Pratola Peligna. The surname appeared already in 1745 in Pratola, when there where around 8 families. The origin, being Pizzoferrato the name of a place about 60 km from Pratola by road today, is "toponimic", which means some remote ancestor (15-16th century) coming from Pizzoferrato settled in Pratola and was known as "from Pizzoferrato" which later remained as a surname.

My grandmother Faustina (Ida) Eramo and her mother Mariana Eramo both came to the US to live, Ida in 1904 and Mariana in 1923. I am visiting Italy next year and would like to meet my ancestors. There are 37 Eramo's in the phonebook, so if anyone can narrow the list down for me, I would be very grateful.
