I am searching for more information on my great grandparents from Fossacesia, Chieti, Italy. My father was Rocco Paolucci, born 1904 in Fossacesia and died 1986 in Fossacesia. His father was Camillo Paolucci, born 1873 in Fossacesia and died 1958 in Fossacesia. His wife was Rosaria Paolucci, born 1880 in Fossacesia, and died 1951 in Fossacesia. Camillo's parents were Vincenzo Paolucci who married Filomena. I do not have any information on Camillo's parents who were my great grandparents. Also Rosaria Di Stefano's parents were Antonio Di Stefano and Addolorata Contini. Rosaria Di Stefano was my grandmother on my father's side and I do not have any dates of births of Antonio Di Stefano and Addolorata Contini. I would certainly appreciate any information on these people from Fossacesia in the late 1880's.

I am trying to find out any information about my great-grandmother - married name Angelina Salvatore (married to Antonio Salvatore). I know we are related to the Meo's also. I met Col. Antonio Meo in 1969 when I visited his family in Ostia. My grandmother's name was Mariangela Salvatore. She came to the US in the early 1900's, and married Antonio Bucci. I know she had two brothers, John and Joe, and at least one sister, Bambinelle. I've talked to all my relatives in this country, and no one seems to know anything about Angelina. I would appreciate any information. thanks so much.

Hello,
I am the great-granddaughter of Salvatore Cataldi, born in Gioia dei Marsi, Abruzzi around 1870. My great-grandfather was a stonemason by trade and worked all over Europe. He married my great-grandmother Katharina in Germany in 1903 where he was working as stonemason for a newly built railroad. He also worked on numerous churches in Germany. He had a daughter, then a son in Germany and left for Gioia dei Marsi in 1915 after the earthquake to assist his family. He was drafted by the Italien military and died fighting in Tyrol. His name is engraved on the Gioia dei Marsi Worldwar I monument. However, we are not able to locate any familiy members. Anyone with information?

We just returned from an amazing trip to Italy! The best part of the trip was planned with and facilitated by Abruzzo2000. At very reasonable rates, they researched my mother-in-law's Italian ancestry with very little information to start with; contacted the closest relatives; arranged meetings; gave us personalized tours; transportation; and translation service. I can't say enough to endorse the friendliness and the quality of service we enjoyed with them. They provided the solution to what otherwise would have been perhaps an insurmountable problem--fulfilling my mother-in-law's dream of finding her Italian heritage. Thank you Pierangela, Leonardo, and Lamberto!!

We will be celebrating the Grand Opening of the Alfred Zampa Memorial Bridge in Northern California on Saturday, November 8th. This bridge is named after my Grandfather who worked on many bridges in the Western United States including the Golden Gate Bridge. His father, Emilio Zampa and Mother, Maria Guisseppa Di Cristofaro left Ortucchio for America around 1895.
Feel free to contact me regarding bridges, the Iron Workers Union, Zampa, Di Cristofaro, or anything else.

I'm researching the Giuliani family from Corvara, Province of Pescara, especially line of Domenic Giuliani (wife, Tecla DiGiovanni), their son Angelantonio (born abt. 1849) who married Lucia Ventura at Corvara in 1873, and Angelantonio's children: Giulia, Biagio and Michele, all of whom emigrated to the U.S. by 1910. Would like to share info with anyone researching this family. Also would like any info on how to purchase a copy of Katia Battaglia's book on Corvara titled: "La Terra di Corvara Nelle Fonti Storiche"; the book was published by the municipality of Corvara in 2001. Thanks, Mike

My Tiritilli geneology has been researched and well documented but we don't seem to have much on my mother's ancestry, the Colecchi family which I believe came to Scontrone from Sulmona. If anyone has any information to share, I would appreciate it especially since I am planning a trip with my children to Italy in the summer of 2004. Thank you.
