Hi! I am interested in obtaining information on my family history. I would like to connect with relatives living in Miranda, Italy or elsewhere. My grandfather was Charles Northen (Narducci). He and his brother Dominic came to Canada around 1890. They settled on Cape Breton Island and worked in a steel mill in Sydney. From there Dominic moved to Philadelphia, Penn. for some time and later moved back to Italy. My grandfather's name was changed to Northen when he moved to Canada. If anyone has any information regarding the Narducci family in Miranda, Italy I would appreciate hearing about them. Thank you.

My husband and I plan on spending 2-3 months exploring Abruzzo (October-December 2003). Can anyone give me suggestions on how to find a furnished apartment for a short term rental (2 months or so. I'm thinking Pescara would be a good base for travels, but am open to suggestions for other towns that have bus or train service.

Many thanks for the opportunity to start the journey to Abruzzo in search of my roots on this great site. My grandmother, "Crucificia" Pizzoferrato, was born approximately 1885-1886 in Pratola Peligna. I believe she was married there in 1904, and immmigrated to the US in 1920. My grandfather, Antonio Polce, also from this village and born around the same time, immigrated to the US about 1914.
I would be grateful for any help in locating my relatives, and my mother and I are planning to visit the region in 2004.

This website is very enjoyable. Someday, my husband and I hope to be able to visit this part of Italy. How about getting around without a car? Is the bus service or train service the way to go? I think the Adriatic coast of Guilinova, Rosetta degli Abrusso or Percara would be fantastic.
