Ciao! My grandfather Attilio DiPaolo and grandmother Lillian DiPaolo (DeSantis) were both born in Cansano, Italy and immigrated to America in the early 20th century, and ended up living their lives in Gallup, New Mexico. I am currently a member of a working group/committee hoping to find the descendants, usually second and third generations of the first Italian families who came and settled in Ottawa, Ontario and surrounding areas anywhere between the late 1800's and the beginning of the Second World War, approximately 1940. The Italian community is large in Ottawa, but we are well aware that many successive generations are transient and may have moved around throughout North America and elsewhere in our world. If anyone has any information re: their families or if you know of any families that came from Italy during this time frame and went on to form the basis of a strong Italian presence in our capital city, please contact me at my e-mail address or home number(613-526-4315)Ciao for now and tante grazie, Trina

My father and I are researching our roots. We think his family came from Nastui, Chieti, Abruzzo. My Grandfather's name was Domenic Di Ienna. They changed it when he came through Ellis Island in the Early 20's to Di Yenno. My Dad has since changed it to Di Enna. If you have any idea of my family, I would like to take my Dad there this Fall.
Thank you!

I am doing genealogical research on my Nonno- Domenico DiGuiseppe, who immigrated to Hershey, Pennsylvania from Bisenti, Italy. He arrived in the US in 1913 at the age of 16. He is my mother's father. His father's name was Rafaele DiGuiseppe, his mother- Mary Lupienetti, and he had a brother who also immigrated to Pennsylvania- Aubrecio. He married my Nonna in 1920, but he left Hershey in 1923, my mother received a letter from him in Italy in 1961. So, we believe he went back to Bisenti, Italy, and may have started a new family there. I am hopeful that there are descendants remaining in Bisenti or Teramo, Abruzzi.
Any information on this family or any descendants of Rafaele, Domenico or Aubrecio DiGuiseppe or Mary Lupienetti would be appreciated.

I am seeking information on my maternal grandmother's family. Her maiden name was: Concetta Fiorda (she may have had a sister named Donata). She came to America in 1920 and was 18 years of age and most probably went to Cincinnati, Ohio at first. She then settled in Philadelphia, PA and married my grandfather, Antonio Vitello who came to America in 1913 and lived in Palermo, Sicily.
My grandmother stated that she came from Civitanova, Italy.
I would be very grateful to learn anything about her and her family.
I would be willing to "trade" information for information. In other words, I would do research at this end for any individual who would do research for me.
Thank you very much.

My Great-Grandparents Giacomo Pinelli and Saveria Pannone came to Washington State in the US in the 1880's with their family, Angelo Pinelli (my grandfather), Domenico Pinelli, Maria Teresa Pinelli and Ilario Nicola Pinelli(married to Maria Teresa). Ilario Pinelli was a son of Placido Emmanuele Pinelli who came to Colorado with wife Maria Filomena di Donato in the 1880's. They brought children Alberinda Maria Pinelli and Giovanni Carlo Pinelli. I have been trying to find a connection to tell the Colorado Pinelli family I believe I have information on their Pinelli family tree they may not have. If anyone is related to these Pinelli's I would enjoy hearing from them.

My grandmother ROSA MARCHEGIANO was born in Casalincontrada, Chieti, in March 1885, and died in Camden, New Jersey in 1970. She had three children in Italy: Antonetta ("Jeannette"), Gasparino ("Casper") and Nicola ("Nick").
In 1912, she emigrated from Serramonacesca, Pescara, to Camden, where her husband, GIOVANNI DI CLEMENTI ("John Clements")was working for the railroad. Giovanni, born in 1883, was from Serramonacesca and first came to the US in 1901, returning to Italy at least once after that.
Rosa and Giovanni's first child in the US was Guglielmo ("WILLIAM CLEMENTS", my father) who was born in 1913.
My grandmother arrived at Ellis Island on the ship Ancona, accompanied by her children and one EMILIA ZAPPACOSTA, who I believe was married to my grandfather's cousin Camillo DiFillipo, who also lived in Camden.
If anyone has any information on these families, or any general information about Marchegianos in the Casalincontrada area, I would really appreicate hearing from you. Thanks.
