Margherita, Riccardo Cocciante

Written in 1976 by Cocciante himself and Marco Luberti, is maybe the singer's most famous song, as well as an indisputable evergreen Italian song.

It was released in the album Concerto per Margherita and was at the top of the charts in Spain, France, Holland and in many countries of South America. In 1999 the song was translated into Dutch and sung by Marco Borsato enjoying considerable success.

The song does not have the typical verse-refrain alternation, in its place there is a much less closed structure. The melody follows a linear progression, played on the vocal register and intensity of interpretation, with a compelling, amazing result.
