Lucio Battisti was a secluded artist, performing only a very few live concerts and rarely appearing on TV; since the early 1980s he completely disappeared from the public scene - just as his great friend, singer Mina. He met an untimely death on 9 September 1998, for a disease that was never publicly communicated by the family.
