- 7-8 december: the "Ponte dell'Immacolata" These two days in December are expected dates because they allow to Milan to spend quite a long pre-Christmas holiday. On December 7, there is the festivity of St. Ambrose, patron saint of the city, followed the next day by the religious, national holiday of the Immacolata - a perfect time to stroll through the city of Milan in search of the many events, not only religious but also cultural, artistic or simply for shopping.
- On the feast of St Ambrose there are two traditional market fairs, the "o bej o bej", something of a Christmas market where to buy traditional sweets, toys and other gifts. The second event is held in Rho, near Milan, and is a a craft fair, with thousands craftsmen from 110 countries, inside the 9 pavilions of the new fair-ground; all details on the website of Artigiano in Fiera.
- October - SMAU (Salone Macchine e Attrezzature per l'Ufficio) is a computer expo in Italy, held at FieraMilano exhibition centre, annually since 1967.
In a scenario of profound economic transformation and competitiveness in information and communication technologies (ICT), the SMAU is a key strategic tool for Italian companies of all sizes. The event in its 47th edition, aims at connecting solution and ICT providers with companies and public administrations to find their ideal platform of new technologies.
Half of the visitors to Smau include companies and public administration and another half represents ICT operators.
