  • Fara Filiorum Petri (CH): Traditional feast of Sant'Antonio with burning of "farchie" (enormous, specially made bundles of hay and canes) in the square, in memory of a miracle throgh which french troops were rejected
  • Gessopalena (CH): Feast of Sant'Antonio, with comic interludes about the Saint's temptations in the desert


    Sant'Antonio Abate is celebrated throughout Abruzzo, with bonfires and procession, and especially in Abbateggio(PE), Alfedena (AQ), Caramanico Terme (PE), Celano (AQ), Cermignano (TE), Civitaquana (PE), Civitella Roveto (AQ), Collelongo (AQ), Lama dei Peligni (CH), Moscufo (PE), Ofena (AQ), Opi (AQ), Ortona dei Marsi (AQ), Ovindoli (AQ), Pescocostanzo (AQ), Pizzoli (AQ), Rivisondoli (AQ), San Benedetto dei Marsi (AQ), San Valentino in Abruzzo Citeriore (PE), Scanno (AQ), Scontrone (AQ), Villa Santa Maria (CH), Villavallelonga (AQ)

    To the celebration of Sant'Antonio, special features are added in the following places:

  • Arsita (TE): Burlesque performance of the saint's temptations in the desert
  • Ateleta (AQ): Sausage festival
  • Cerchio (AQ): Sagra dei "granati e della porchetta"
  • Chieti (CH): Satirical performance of the temptations of Saint Antonio



  • Bisegna (AQ): Feast of San Sebastiano, with a bread procession


  • Ortona (CH): Feast of San Sebastiano
  • San Vincenzo Valle Roveto (AQ): Feast of Santa Restituta
  • Quadri (CH): Feast of San Sebastiano



  • Villalago (AQ): Feast of San Domenico
