"La Partenze", Abruzzese typical bridal song, version of Crognaleto

These lines were recorded by prof. Giovanni Di Luigi in Crognaleto in 1962, and are very similar in structure to the Partenze of Colledara. Crognaleto is a little town at the foot of the Gran Sasso, about 20 miles from Teramo.

Dialect text
Piagne la mamme che la fije spose:
Mo se ne va la dee de la case,
Risponne lu fratille: Chesciccise!
Mo se ne va la latre de la case.

English Translation
The mother cries 'cause the daughter gets married:
Now there goes the goddess of the house
Replies the brother: May she be killed!
Now there goes the thief of the house.
