Se piangi, se ridi, Bobby Solo

Written by Mogol, Gianni Marchetti and Roberto Satti (real name Bobby Solo) the song, performed by Bobby Solo and the U.S. folk group New Christy Minstrels, was the winner of the 1965 Sanremo Festival.
The festival had become a race of singers rather than songs and Bobby Solo was rewarded with a song which was not up to his "Una lacrima sul viso" of the previous year, almost as compensation. The most popular Sanremo song that year was "Io che non vivo (senza te)" by Pino Donaggio.

Se piangi, amore, io piango con te
perché sono parte di te.
Sorridi sempre se tu non vuoi,
non vuoi vedermi soffrire mai.
If you cry, love, I'll cry with you
because I am part of you.
Always smile if you do not want,
never want to see me suffer.

Se ridi, amore, io rido con te
perché ti fai parte di me.
Ricorda sempre: quel che tu fai
sopra il mio volto lo rivedrai.
If you laugh, love, I'll laugh with you
because you are part of me.
Always remember: what you do
on my face you will see it.

Non sei mai sola anche se tu,
tu sei lontana da me.
Ogni momento, dovunque andrai
accanto a te mi troverai.
you will not be alone even if,
you're far away from me.
Every moment, wherever you go
next to you you will find me.

Se piangi, se ridi, io sono con te
perché sono parte di te.
Ricorda sempre: quel che tu fai
sopra il mio volto lo rivedrai.
If you cry, if you laugh, I am with you
because I am part of you.
Always remember: what you do
on my face you will see it.

Ricorda sempre: quel che tu fai
sopra il mio volto lo rivedrai.
Always remember: what you do
on my face you will see it.
