Cum'era bella Rusina mia!
Cchi nàtichi tunde!
...e che minni c'avia!
How beautiful was my Rosina!
with round bottom!
...and what breast she had!

'Na vota era lu mia 'stu maccaturu
e mò lu vijiu ad autri maniàri
Once this scarf was mine
and now I see it in another's hand

Si monaca ti fhai... lu fhuacu attizzi,
si ti mariti... lu 'mpiarnu t'abbrazzi
if you become a nun... you lit the fire,
if you marry... you embrace hell

Si la schetta sapera quantu sa la maritata...
Si mintèra 'ntra lu lettu
e fhacèra la malata.
If a single girl knew what a married one knows
she would get into bed
and pretend she's sick.

L'amuri veru veni di l'amuri...
La cuntintizza... veni di lu cori
True love comes from love...
Happiness... comes from the heart

A donna, quandu è bella di natura,
cchjiù trascurata và...
chjiù bella pari!
a woman, when she is naturally beautiful,
the more neglected she goes...
the more beautiful she looks!

Cum'era bella Rusina mia!
Cchi natichi tunde!...
e cchi minni c'avìa!
How beautiful was my Rosina!
with round bottom!
...and what breast she had!
