Born on June 15 1933 in Pola, Istria (today Pula, Croatia), deceased September 7 2005, Endrigo was a singer-songwriter, a true poet of love, always a gentleman, a kind and delicate presence in Italian music.
Sergio Endrigo won the Festival di Sanremo in 1968 with "Canzone per te", was second in 1969 with "Lontano dagli occhi" and third in 1970 with "L'arca di Noè"; he collaborated with such poets as Pier Paolo Pasolini, Vinicius de Moraes and Giuseppe Ungaretti and with musicians as Toquinho and Luis Bacalov.
