Con Te Partirò

The song was written by Lucio Quarantotto for the lyrics on a music by Francesco Sartori, and is one of the major international success of Italian pop music, reaching the first position in the charts in France and Belgium, and becoming the second best selling single in Germany.
It was reproduced several times in the U.S. television series "The Sopranos" and also in a scene of the movie "Wanted - Choose your destiny".

With its catchy rhythm, the song stands on the border between pop music and opera, and the original Italian lyrics represent almost pictorially the concept of the journey, as a metaphor of life itself. It was performed by Andrea Bocelli at the Sanremo Festival in 1995, and later included in his album "Sung by Andrea Bocelli. In the UK the song was released by Bocelli with soprano Sarah Brightman, under the title of "Time to Say Goodbye".

Quando sono solo
sogno all'orizzonte
e mancan le parole,
Sì lo so che non c'è luce
in una stanza quando manca il sole,
se non ci sei tu con me, con me.
When I'm alone
I dream on the horizon
and words fail;
Yes I know that there is no light
in a room where the sun is absent,
if you're not here with me, with me.

Su le finestre
mostra a tutti il mio cuore
che hai acceso,
chiudi dentro me
la luce che
hai incontrato per strada.
Open the windows
show everyone my heart
which you set alight;
enclose within me
the light that
you met on the way.

Con te partirò.
Paesi che non ho mai
veduto e vissuto con te,
adesso sì li vivrò,
With you I will leave.
Places that I've never
seen and shared with you,
now yes I will live them,

Con te partirò
su navi per mari
che, io lo so,
no, no, non esistono più,
con te io li vivrò.
With you I will leave
on ships across seas
which, I know,
no, no, exist no longer;
with you I shall live them.

Quando sei lontana
sogno all’orizzonte
e mancan le parole,
e io sì lo so
When you're far away
I dream on the horizon
and words fail;
and yes I know

che sei con me, con me
tu mia luna tu sei qui con me,
mio sole tu sei qui con me,
con me, con me, con me.
that you're with me, with me
you, my moon, are here with me,
my sun, you are here with me,
with me, with me, with me.

Con te partirò.
Paesi che non ho mai
veduto e vissuto con te,
adesso sì li vivrò.
With you I will leave
Places that I've never
seen and shared with you,
now yes I shall live them.

Con te partirò
su navi per mari
che, io lo so,
no, no, non esistono più,
con te io li rivivrò.
With you I will leave
on ships across seas
which, I know,
no, no, exist no longer;
with you I shall live them again.

Con te partirò
su navi per mari
che, io lo so,
no, no, non esistono più,
con te io li rivivrò.
Con te partirò.
With you I will leave
on ships across seas
which, I know,
no, no, exist no longer;
with you I shall live them again.
With you I will leave.
